Audit Manager

About the role

Our client, an accountancy practice in Brighton, is seeking an Audit Manager to lead audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring quality, compliance and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver audit assignments from planning to completion, adhering to budgets and deadlines.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients.
• Review audit files and financial statements, preparing work for Partner/RI review.
• Lead, mentor and develop junior team members.
• Oversee audit budgets, billing and assignment profitability.
• Prepare and review statutory financial statements in line with UK GAAP and relevant accounting standards.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Significant experience in a UK accountancy practice with audit management responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards, company law and corporation tax.
• Proven experience managing a varied client portfolio and leading audit teams.
• Strong IT skills, including Excel; experience with CCH, ProAudit or similar software is advantageous.
