Audit Senior – Charities & Financial Reporting

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join a well‑established professional services firm in Bristol. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality audit engagements for charitable organisations and providing specialist financial reporting support.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and finalise audit engagements for charities, including SORP accounts.
• Lead planning and clearance meetings with clients from start to completion under manager and partner supervision.
• Prepare and review financial statements in line with relevant standards.
• Identify audit findings, recommend process improvements and ensure deadlines are met.
• Supervise, train and mentor junior team members.
• Undertake ad‑hoc consultancy projects such as trustee training, grant audits, VAT reviews, accounting system implementation and virtual FD work.

Required profile

• Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of audit procedures and financial reporting standards.
• Specific experience auditing charities and familiarity with Charity SORP.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
• Proven experience mentoring junior staff.
