Audit Senior – Glasgow

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join our Glasgow office. The role involves leading audit engagements, both on‑site and remotely, and delivering high‑quality service to our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of audit knowledge and stay updated on emerging issues.
• Lead the planning, fieldwork and finalisation of audit assignments.
• Carry out audit fieldwork in line with the audit plan and firm procedures.
• Investigate causes of irregularities and assess internal controls and systems.
• Identify key audit risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Provide recommendations for improvements to client systems and internal controls.
• Monitor productivity, recoverability, fee income and client service.
• Create audit findings reports and attend closing meetings as required.
• Supervise and train junior team members, including Audit Semi‑Seniors and Assistants.

Required profile

• ACCA qualified or part‑qualified.
• Minimum two years’ experience in an audit environment within an accountancy practice.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and meet client expectations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
• Good working understanding of auditing standards, accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.

What we offer

• Salary range £28,000 – £38,000 depending on experience.
• Permanent contract with a 35‑hour week (Monday‑Friday) and flexible hours policy.
