About the role

Audit Senior – Guildford, Surrey. Join an established Audit & Assurance team delivering external audit engagements for a diverse client portfolio, including owner‑managed businesses and UK subsidiaries of international groups. The role combines technical audit work with supervision of junior staff and client relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead external audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Prepare and review statutory financial statements.
• Assess audit risk and identify key focus areas.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members.
• Review internal controls and recommend improvements.
• Support group audit assignments and component reporting where required.
• Manage client communication throughout the audit process.
• Ensure engagements are delivered within agreed timelines and budgets.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Current experience in an external audit role within a UK accountancy practice.
• Proven ability to lead audit assignments and supervise junior staff.
• Strong communication skills with clients.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Experience with group audits or international reporting structures is advantageous.

• Knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
