Audit Senior – Hybrid Working, £40k‑£50k

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join a well‑established independent accountancy practice in Woking, Surrey. The role offers hybrid working, study support and the chance to develop your career within a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Prepare audit files and ensure work complies with current auditing standards.
• Prepare statutory financial statements, including consolidated accounts.
• Work with owner‑managed businesses, UK subsidiaries and international groups.
• Identify audit and accounting issues and discuss them with senior colleagues.
• Manage day‑to‑day client relationships as a key point of contact.
• Review the work of junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
• Support and mentor trainees throughout audit assignments.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Assist with accounts preparation and wider business advisory work where required.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification (finalists or recently qualified are also considered).
• Recent audit experience within a UK firm of Chartered Accountants.
• Experience leading or supervising audit assignments.
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and relevant auditing standards.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and audit documentation.
• Confidence to communicate directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments.
• A supportive and collaborative approach to working with junior colleagues.
