About the role

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and lead audit fieldwork across a varied portfolio of clients.
• Ensure audit work is completed to a high technical standard and within budget.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the audit process, building trust and rapport.
• Identify opportunities for the firm to add value beyond the audit itself.
• Support and coach junior team members on‑site, reviewing their work and providing feedback.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture in the Chester office.
• Stay up‑to‑date with auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
• Assist managers/partners with technical queries and file reviews.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or a finalist, with solid external audit experience.
• Background in a Big 4, Top 20 or mid‑tier practice.
• Confidence in managing audit fieldwork and liaising directly with clients.
• Strong technical grounding and ambition to progress to Manager.
