Audit Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Audit Supervisor to join our client’s dynamic team in Godalming. You will lead audit assignments for a diverse portfolio of small to medium‑sized clients, ensuring high‑quality, compliant audit work while delivering excellent client service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments for small and medium‑sized clients across various sectors.
• Plan audits, perform risk assessments and design substantive and analytical procedures.
• Review and coach the work of junior team members.
• Mentor, train and support audit trainees and part‑qualified staff.
• Prepare and review statutory financial statements and audit reports.
• Communicate audit findings, recommendations and key issues to managers and partners.
• Prepare audit completion documentation, including highlights reports and summaries of differences.
• Liaise with tax and specialist teams to ensure coordinated client service.
• Monitor audit progress and budgets, identifying efficiency improvements.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and support business development activities.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent international qualification).
• Current Audit Supervisor or recently qualified Audit Senior with experience leading audits and supervising junior staff.

Required skills

• Audit planning, risk assessment and design of substantive and analytical procedures.
• Reviewing junior team members’ work and providing constructive feedback.
• Preparation and review of statutory financial statements and audit reports.
• Effective communication of audit findings to senior stakeholders.
