Auto Electrician – Bus Depot – Keighley

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Auto Electrician to join our busy bus depot in Keighley. You will work on a fleet of buses, using advanced diagnostic tools to keep vehicles running safely and efficiently while supporting the shift to greener transport.

Key responsibilities

• Use diagnostic equipment, multimeters and laptops to connect to the bus Engine Control Unit (ECU) and identify faults.
• Repair or replace alternators, starter motors, battery banks and faulty wiring in line with DVSA safety standards.
• Maintain complex multiplex wiring networks that control doors, lighting and engine systems.
• Install and service passenger‑facing technology such as security cameras, telematics, passenger counting sensors and electronic ticketing machines.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, major unit changes and roadside repairs as required.

Required profile

• NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in PCV/HGV engineering.
• Experience repairing and maintaining commercial vehicles to DVSA or higher standards.
• Ability to perform both scheduled maintenance and urgent roadside repairs.
