Automatic Gate & Barrier Engineer – Durham

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Automatic Gate & Barrier Engineer to join a growing team in the North East. The role is field‑based, covering multiple sites across the region, and involves delivering high‑quality installation and maintenance services for a variety of access control products.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, repair, fault‑find and maintain automated gates, barriers, bollards, turnstiles and access systems.
• Work with a wide range of manufacturer brands and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain clear communication with customers and complete tasks efficiently.
• Provide support to fellow team members when required.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the gate and barrier industry.
• Familiarity with multiple manufacturers and their products.
• Relevant qualifications such as IPAF, CSCS/ECS, DHF/Gate Safe or City & Guilds are desirable.
• Positive attitude and self‑motivation.
