Automation Test Engineer – up to £70k + Bonus

About the role

Involved Solutions is seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer to join its Agile engineering teams delivering secure, reliable digital services for major public‑sector transformation programmes. You will work on cloud‑native applications, embedding quality across the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable UI and API automation frameworks.
• Build automated test suites using Java, Selenium, REST Assured, Playwright and Cucumber BDD.
• Execute functional, regression, integration and end‑to‑end automated tests.
• Perform UI automation with Selenium WebDriver and Playwright; conduct API testing with REST Assured, Postman and Swagger.
• Carry out accessibility testing to meet WCAG standards.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing in AWS cloud environments.
• Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps engineers, Business Analysts and Product Owners.
• Contribute to performance and load testing using K6.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience with Java‑based test automation.
• Hands‑on expertise in Selenium WebDriver, REST Assured, Playwright and Cucumber BDD.
• Proven ability to build automation frameworks from scratch.
• Experience testing REST APIs and validating JSON/XML.
• Knowledge of accessibility testing tools such as WAVE, AXE DevTools and VoiceOver.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git and Maven.
• Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and Jira.
