Automation Test Lead

About the role

Legal & General is seeking an Automation Test Lead to join its Retail Technology team. This role will play a key part in improving quality across a varied technology landscape, helping deliver reliable, customer‑focused solutions while supporting modern Agile and DevOps ways of working.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of automated testing across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Design, configure and maintain scalable automation frameworks.
• Collaborate with engineers, product and delivery teams to align testing with user stories and risk assessments.
• Drive continuous improvement by exploring new automation tools and techniques.
• Produce clear reporting on test progress, coverage and outcomes.
• Coach and mentor colleagues to build automation capability.
• Identify opportunities to increase the value and effectiveness of automation in Agile and DevOps environments.
• Champion quality, customer outcomes and conduct risk in all testing activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading or delivering test automation in complex delivery environments.
• Strong knowledge of automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber or Protractor.
• Experience with continuous integration and version‑control tools like Jenkins and GitHub.
• Understanding of modern testing approaches including BDD and TDD.
