Automation Tester – Data

About the role

We are looking for an Automation Tester specialised in data to join a six‑month contract (potentially extended) within a government‑scale programme. The role is primarily remote with a requirement to be on‑site in Telford once every three weeks.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test suites for data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Validate data transformations between source and target systems to ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with data engineers to embed quality checks early in the development lifecycle.
• Identify, log and help resolve defects, performing root‑cause analysis.
• Support CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests.

Required profile

• Eligible for Security Clearance (SC).
• Strong experience in test automation within data/ETL environments.
• Proven ability to validate complex data pipelines and transformations.

Required skills

• SQL for data validation.
• Test automation tools such as Playwright or equivalent.
• Experience with ETL testing, preferably Talend‑based solutions.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
