Automotive Apprentice – Torquay

About the role

Join Halfords Autocentre in Torquay as an Automotive Apprentice and gain hands‑on experience across a wide range of vehicle makes and models. You will split your week between on‑site work and college‑based training, developing the technical expertise required to become a qualified vehicle technician.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle servicing, inspections and routine maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Replace components, perform engine rebuilds and undertake complex repairs.
• Collaborate with mentors, colleagues and college lecturers to continuously improve skills.
• Understand workshop operations from a commercial perspective.

Required profile

• Adaptable, flexible and eager to solve new problems daily.
• Customer‑focused with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Interest in automotive technology and a willingness to learn.
