Avionic Wireman / Fitter

About the role

Join Airbus Helicopters UK at Oxford Airport, the UK’s civil helicopter hub, as an Avionic Wireman/Fitter. You will manufacture and install electrical looms and avionic equipment on helicopters, working closely with the in‑house Part‑21 design team to deliver bespoke solutions for MOD, VVIP and other customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture electrical looms and avionic systems according to design data.
• Install, remove and refit panels, cowlings and equipment on helicopters.
• Conduct off‑aircraft work in workshops and assist with daily hangar operations.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and follow the Airbus “Clean As You Go” initiative.
• Support the Installation Supervisor or Certifying Engineer in all tasks.
• Work within a highly regulated environment ensuring safety and airworthiness.

Required profile

• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
• Comfort working in confined spaces and adhering to H&S requirements.
• Positive attitude, reliable under pressure and good communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
• Experience with soldering and crimping techniques for wiring connections.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and production processes.
• Proficiency using test equipment such as an AVO.
• Skill in manufacturing and installing aircraft electrical looms and avionic systems.
