B2 Certified Engineer – Rotorcraft Maintenance

About the role

The B2 Certified Engineer will join the UK Military Flying Training System (Rotary Wing) team at RAF Shawbury, providing certification for line and non‑routine maintenance on Airbus H135/H145 rotorcraft. The role includes hands‑on technical work, supervision of fitters, and support to flight operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering operational support to Flight Operations.
• Perform maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by the LAE Supervisor.
• Lead a team to ensure safe aircraft operation.
• Complete avionic and electrical system maintenance, including replacement of line‑replaceable units.
• Supervise avionic and electrical fitters and certify their work.
• Conduct off‑aircraft avionic and electrical tasks in the workshop.
• Assist with daily hangar operations, aircraft movement and housekeeping.

Required profile

• Thorough knowledge of helicopter avionic and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with specialised test equipment for avionic/electrical work.
• Up‑to‑date understanding of CAA regulations (Part 145, Part M) and Continued Airworthiness Management.
• Experience in flight operations and line maintenance.
• Desirable knowledge of UK Military Aviation and the MFTS programme.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
