Backend Engineer

About the role

Conduct is building an AI operating system that removes IT complexity for the world’s largest enterprises. As a Backend Engineer you will design and ship core infrastructure that powers large‑scale LLM workloads and supports product teams across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Accelerate product teams by building shared abstractions, sensible defaults and internal tooling.
• Design and maintain production‑grade infrastructure that meets strict enterprise reliability requirements.
• Manage high‑throughput LLM infrastructure, handling real‑time usage and flaky providers.
• Implement foundational systems such as authentication, observability and job orchestration to avoid future rewrites.

Required profile

• 3+ years of backend experience with platform or infrastructure focus, having taken systems from MVP to production‑scale.
• Strong system‑design instincts, able to own end‑to‑end problems across APIs, infrastructure and data flows.
• Experience with distributed systems, scaling PostgreSQL databases, queueing, and large‑scale batch processing.
• Ability to benchmark, tune and make pragmatic trade‑offs under ambiguous data.
