Band 5 Trainee Outreach Nurse (Sexual Health)

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Sexual Health Outreach team in Rochdale. The Band 5 Trainee Outreach Nurse will deliver essential sexual health services across community settings such as schools, colleges and local hubs, as well as our established clinics. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop clinical expertise while working directly with young people and vulnerable adults.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality contraception and sexual health advice in both clinic and community environments.
• Administer contraception and deliver STI treatment under Patient Group Directions.
• Conduct STI testing, pregnancy testing and cervical screening.
• Offer non‑judgemental, tailored support to young people and vulnerable adults.
• Collaborate with local partners to deliver health‑promotion and education initiatives.
• Contribute to reducing unintended pregnancies and STI rates in the local population.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN/RM) eligible to practise in the UK.
• Motivated, compassionate and able to work independently in outreach settings.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse communities.
• Commitment to NHS values and continuous professional development.
