About the role
We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to join our Histology team on a locum basis in Bradford. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of £23‑£35 and immediate start.
Key responsibilities
- Perform microtomy procedures, achieving a minimum throughput of 25 tissue blocks per hour.
- Prepare, stain and analyse histology samples in accordance with laboratory standards.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality‑assurance activities.
- Collaborate with senior consultants and support the wider laboratory team.
Required profile
- HCPC registration (required).
- At least 12 months recent experience as a qualified Biomedical Scientist in a UK hospital.
- Proven experience in Microbiology and Histology laboratory work.
