Band 7 Neurodevelopmental Practitioner – Cambridgeshire

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Band 7 Neurodevelopmental Practitioner to join our new Neurodevelopmental Diagnostic Team in Cambridgeshire. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess and support children with neurodevelopmental conditions, leading diagnostic assessments and contributing to service development.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in ASD and ADHD diagnostic pathways.
• Lead and undertake neurodevelopmental assessments and observations, including ADOS.
• Gather and analyse information from families, education settings and other professionals.
• Deliver clear, compassionate feedback to families following MDT assessments.
• Provide clinical expertise in differential diagnosis of neurodevelopmental conditions.
• Manage a specialist caseload and produce high‑quality reports.
• Collaborate with MDT colleagues to ensure effective care pathways.
• Contribute to service development, audit, quality improvement and waiting‑list initiatives.
• Support the wider neurodevelopmental pathway across Cambridgeshire.

Required profile

• Qualified neurodevelopmental practitioner at Band 7 level.
• Experience with ASD and ADHD assessments.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Compassionate approach to delivering feedback to families.
• Commitment to service development and quality improvement.

Required skills

• Administration of the ADOS assessment tool.
• Conducting comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessments.
• Differential diagnosis of neurodevelopmental conditions.
• Report writing and caseload management.
• Data analysis for audit and service evaluation.
