Bank Care Assistant – Residential Care Home

About the role

As a Bank Care Assistant in a Barchester care home you will support residents to enjoy each day by providing high‑quality personal care and companionship. Working on a flexible, as‑needed basis you will help with daily living activities, follow individual care plans and ensure each resident receives one‑to‑one attention.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with meals, hydration and personal hygiene.
• Deliver care in line with each resident’s care plan, including medication support where required.
• Provide social interaction and companionship, encouraging participation in activities.
• Cover shifts for annual leave, sick leave or other staffing gaps.
• Maintain accurate records of care delivered and report any changes in residents’ condition.

Required profile

• Previous experience caring for older adults.
• Positive, can‑do attitude and strong communication skills.
• Empathy, warmth and a genuine desire to support vulnerable people.
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to varying shift patterns.
