Bank Chef – Part‑time role in Hemlington

About the role
We are seeking a Bank Chef to work flexible, part‑time hours at Cygnet Newham House, a 20‑bed neuro‑psychiatric rehabilitation facility in Hemlington. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals for women recovering from acquired brain injuries, contributing to a therapeutic environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and serve balanced, appetising meals.
- Provide special diets tailored to individual preferences and clinical needs.
- Liaise with nursing staff to ensure patients’ nutritional requirements are met.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas and dining room.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, Food Hygiene Regulations and COSHH.
- Handle, maintain and store kitchen equipment according to Cygnet procedures.
Required profile
- Skilled chef/cook able to work under pressure.
- Experience in a care or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Ability to plan nourishing menus within budget.
- Holder of a valid food hygiene certificate and good personal hygiene.
- Polite, professional attitude with strong communication skills.
- Capable of working independently, as part of a team and under supervision.
