Bank Mental Health Support Worker – Day & Sleep Shifts

About the role

We are seeking Bank Mental Health Support Workers to join our accommodation services in Brighton & Hove. The role involves day and sleep‑in shifts supporting clients with mental health diagnoses on their journey to independence. You will work autonomously following detailed support plans and be ready to respond to crises during sleep‑in periods.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑time support to clients according to individual care plans.
• Monitor client wellbeing and intervene during emergencies, especially on sleep‑in shifts.
• Maintain a safe, secure environment in accommodation and sleep‑in rooms.
• Document observations, incidents and updates to care plans accurately.
• Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.

Required profile

• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience working with a variety of mental health diagnoses or complex presentations.
• Flexibility to work across day and overnight shifts.
• Willingness to go the extra mile for clients.
• Team‑oriented, proactive and resilient in challenging situations.
• Compassion, courage and kindness with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £14.40 (inclusive of leave and sick pay).
• Additional £80.00 per sleep‑in shift.
