Bank Staff Nurse – Vaccinations

About the role

This internal vacancy is for a Bank Staff Nurse working on the NHS Borders Vaccination Programme. The role involves delivering a range of adult vaccinations across diverse settings throughout the Scottish Borders, supporting the region’s high‑quality healthcare delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Administer vaccinations to adults in community, primary‑care and outreach settings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient immunisation sessions.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to NHS Scotland vaccination protocols.
• Promote the core NHS values of care, compassion, quality, teamwork, dignity, respect, openness, honesty and responsibility.

Required profile

• Current NHS Scotland employee eligible for internal postings.
• Demonstrated commitment to NHS values and high standards of patient care.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong team‑working approach.
• Willingness to undergo updated criminal records checks and, if required, join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.

Required skills

• Vaccination administration.
• Clinical nursing competence in adult immunisation.
