Barista – Customer‑focused Coffee Specialist

About the role

Join Costa Coffee in Selby as a Barista, where you will create high‑quality coffee drinks while delivering friendly, personalised service to every customer. This fast‑paced, full‑time position runs from opening to close and includes a comprehensive training programme to help you master the Costa coffee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea and other beverages quickly and accurately.
• Engage with customers, remembering regulars by name and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
• Maintain product knowledge across the full Costa range, including food items.
• Uphold health, safety and cleanliness standards throughout the store.
• Collaborate with team members to keep the outlet running smoothly during busy periods.

Required profile

• Positive, can‑do attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and multitask.
• Passion for coffee and delivering excellent customer experiences.
• Reliable, hardworking and eager to develop within the hospitality sector.

Required skills

• Basic operation of coffee‑making equipment.
• Understanding of food‑service hygiene and safety procedures.
