Behaviour Support Assistant – Supporting Children in Witney

About the role

This position provides therapeutic, day‑to‑day support for children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, and complex emotional or mental health needs. You will help them feel safe, build trusting relationships, and develop positive emotional regulation skills.

Key responsibilities

• Support children and young people with emotional regulation and behaviour management.
• Encourage positive routines, resilience and healthy coping strategies.
• Promote the safety, wellbeing and development of each young person.
• Record observations and contribute to care and support plans.

Required profile

• Patient, empathetic and able to respond calmly to trauma‑related behaviours.
• Compassionate and resilient, with a desire to make a meaningful difference.
• Experience working with children or young people with behavioural, emotional or mental health needs is desirable.
• Understanding of trauma‑informed practice, safeguarding and child development is beneficial.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary: £90 – £110 per day.
• Full‑time, onsite position.
• Immediate start possible, with support for a September start.
