About the role
As a Bespoke Teacher you will deliver highly personalised, trauma‑informed education for pupils who struggle in traditional classroom settings. You will design individual learning programmes that boost engagement, confidence and emotional regulation, while supporting academic and personal progress. The role is based at Dibden Park School but mainly involves off‑site teaching to create safe, supportive learning environments.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver bespoke education plans tailored to each learner’s needs, strengths and aspirations.
- Plan and teach engaging lessons across relevant curriculum areas, adapting as needs evolve.
- Promote inclusion and wellbeing, helping learners build confidence, routines and a sense of belonging.
- Monitor progress, update learning targets and ensure clear, consistent advancement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate education with day‑to‑day care and support.
- Use positive behaviour approaches to maintain calm, safe learning environments.
- Contribute to reviews and documentation, working thoughtfully with families and professionals.
Required profile
- Genuine commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
- Strong classroom presence with the ability to build rapport and manage learning calmly.
- Patience, empathy and resilience, especially when progress is non‑linear.
- Flexibility to shift approaches quickly to meet individual learner needs.
- Creative planning and purposeful teaching beyond routine delivery.
- Effective communication and collaborative teamwork skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
