BIM Technician

About the role

The BIM Technician will support major water and wastewater schemes from concept through to commissioning. Working within Mott MacDonald Bentley, you will ensure BIM and digital outputs are integrated across the project lifecycle, helping to improve the efficiency of treatment systems.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and quality‑control CAD/BIM design data.
• Use 3D modelling for design collaboration, clash resolution, asset data capture, digital rehearsal and cost capture.
• Support the Common Data Environment (Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360) and develop a standardised BIM element library.
• Manage cyber‑security aspects of CAD/BIM data and access.
• Validate and integrate supplier CAD/BIM models.
• Work with designers to balance time, cost and quality pressures.
• Ensure safety, wellbeing, environmental and sustainability considerations are embedded in BIM outputs.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced BIM technicians.

Required profile

• Recognised qualification in CAD, BIM or a related field.
• Proficiency with one or more Autodesk authoring packages (Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD).
• Knowledge of water or wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Experience authoring 3D models within a Common Data Environment (Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360).
