BMS Service Engineer

About the role

An established building controls and energy management specialist is recruiting a BMS Service Engineer to support customers across a range of commercial building environments. The company offers building automation and energy management solutions that help customers keep buildings running reliably, improve system performance and reduce energy use. The role is based in London and covers the South East.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service visits on BMS installations.
• Diagnose and resolve faults across BMS controllers, software, networks and field devices.
• Maintain and optimise BMS systems to improve reliability, performance and energy efficiency.
• Undertake BMS software modifications, adjustments and system upgrades where required.
• Support customers with technical issues and recommend system improvements.
• Identify opportunities for remedial works, upgrades and additional service requirements.
• Produce accurate service reports and maintain technical documentation.
• Work with internal engineering, projects and account management teams, and follow health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a BMS Service Engineer or similar building controls engineering role.
• Experience carrying out planned maintenance and reactive service work.
• Ability to work independently, manage a workload and communicate effectively with customers.
• Customer-focused approach with strong technical problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of BMS maintenance, fault-finding and troubleshooting.
• Experience with BMS platforms such as Trend, Tridium Niagara, Siemens, Schneider Electric or Distech Controls, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of HVAC plant, control strategies, sensors, actuators and field devices.
