Booking & Reception Coordinator – Radiology (Band 3)

About the role

The Radiology Department at University Hospitals Birmingham is looking for a motivated Booking and Reception Coordinator (Band 3) to join the team. You will work a rotational shift pattern, supporting patients and staff by managing appointments and providing non‑clinical information.

Key responsibilities

• Book and amend radiology appointments using electronic diary and waiting‑list systems.
• Notify patients of new or changed appointments and answer queries by phone or face‑to‑face.
• Liaise with clinical staff, patients, GPs, dentists and other external agencies.
• Provide non‑clinical advice and support, handling difficult or aggressive situations with sensitivity.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure attention to detail in all communications.

Required profile

• Experience in booking appointments and managing electronic diaries.
• Familiarity with NHS clinical systems and ability to work to deadlines.
• Strong time‑management, communication and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
