Branch Assistant – Retail Sales

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Branch Assistant to join our Stockton‑on‑Tees store. You will combine product knowledge of tiles and interior design trends with excellent customer service to drive sales and support the branch’s daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and sell tile and related product ranges to private and trade customers, both in‑store and over the phone.
• Maintain showroom presentation, ensuring displays are tidy, up‑to‑date and meet brand standards.
• Process cash transactions, refunds and till operations accurately following store procedures.
• Handle customer enquiries, complete telephone orders and provide product usage advice.
• Keep abreast of interior design trends and how tiles fit into renovation projects.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve sales targets and uphold the branch’s reputation.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a retail environment.
• Interest in interior design and tile products.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
• Attention to detail, especially when handling transactions.
• Willingness to lift and move heavy boxes of tiles.

Required skills

• Cash handling and till operation.
