Building Services Engineer Apprentice

About the role

Hoare Lea is seeking an enthusiastic Building Services Engineer Apprentice to join its Oxford team. You will be introduced to all stages of building services design, from client brief through to construction and post‑occupancy performance.

Key responsibilities

• Work on live projects across a range of sectors
• Produce detailed designs and drawings
• Use the latest computer‑modelling software to develop engineering solutions
• Undertake site surveys and monitor construction progress
• Research emerging technologies and innovative design approaches
• Participate in regular meetings with project teams, clients and end‑users
• Prepare engineering system designs and write technical specifications
• Explore specialisation options in electrical, mechanical or digital engineering design

Required profile

• Motivated aspiring engineer eager to learn and develop practical skills
• Strong interest in holistic building design and sustainable solutions
• Ability to collaborate with architects, consultants and construction professionals
• Willingness to work on‑site and engage with multidisciplinary project teams

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer‑modelling software for engineering design
