Building Services Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Building Services Manager to take ownership of building services, compliance and technical projects across a 24‑acre independent school campus. The role blends strategic leadership with hands‑on technical work, ensuring the estate runs smoothly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planned maintenance programmes and oversee day‑to‑day building services operations.
• Manage external contractors and suppliers, ensuring quality and value.
• Drive statutory compliance for health, safety, fire and environmental regulations.
• Deliver technical projects that improve the estate’s performance and sustainability.
• Respond to unexpected incidents, troubleshooting on site and coordinating repairs.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Building Services Engineer, M&E Supervisor, Technical Services Supervisor, Maintenance Manager or similar.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to take ownership of a large estate.
• Confidence to make decisions and influence improvements.
