Bus Contracts & Projects Officer (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

This 12‑month fixed‑term position offers a hands‑on opportunity to support the delivery of local bus contracts and contribute to one of the UK’s largest bus franchising programmes. You will work within the Public Transport team, gaining experience in contract monitoring, data analysis and service improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor contracted bus services through on‑street observations.
• Analyse performance data, punctuality, reliability and customer feedback and produce insightful reports.
• Support the management of bus service registrations and ensure contract compliance.

Required profile

• Currently studying towards a degree in Geography, Transport Planning or a related subject.
• Possesses A‑Levels or equivalent qualifications.
• Strong interest in public transport and sustainable travel.

Required skills

• Data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to conduct field observations.
