Business Analyst - Engineering Software

About the role

Babcock is looking for a Business Analyst to support digital engineering and business transformation across its UK locations. You will analyse, develop, maintain and support engineering software applications, working with stakeholders to turn business needs into technical solutions. The role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, on a fixed-term contract of 18 months, with hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements and turn them into system and application solutions
• Support and enhance engineering applications in line with business and IT strategy
• Work with stakeholders, developers and analysts to define user stories and acceptance criteria
• Maintain and prioritise product backlogs while supporting Agile Scrum delivery
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across software and business processes

Required profile

• Business analysis experience covering business process, requirements definition, systems design and application support
• Knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies
• Experience writing user stories that meet INVEST principles
• Experience creating and refining product backlogs
• Ability to obtain and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) clearance; eligibility may depend on place of birth, nationality and citizenship
