Business Assurance Auditor

About the role

The Business Assurance Auditor will support the Business Assurance Manager in delivering the annual audit plan for the Distribution business. Working across a variety of risk‑focused audits, you will help provide clear, value‑adding insights that drive improvement and mitigate material issues.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, scope, and execute end‑to‑end audits, including drafting terms of reference and stakeholder engagement.
• Develop and run audit test plans, conduct interviews and evidence‑based testing.
• Analyse findings, grade issues, and produce clear reports with action ownership through to closure.
• Maintain audit and action records, contribute to leadership reporting and support other assurance activities.
• Assist with broader assurance objectives such as compliance programmes and ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in auditing with practical application of audit techniques.
• Strong knowledge of the UK legal and regulatory framework, statutory licence obligations and corporate governance.
• Understanding of risk management, business governance, internal controls and assurance models.
• Good working knowledge of electricity distribution network operations.
• Full, current UK driving licence.
