Business Development Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Business Development Coordinator to join a friendly team at a well‑established manufacturing business in Leyland. The role focuses on building relationships with prospective customers, understanding their needs and arranging quality appointments for the external sales team.

Key responsibilities

• Research and identify prospective customers and business opportunities.
• Make outbound calls to introduce the business and establish new relationships.
• Respond to inbound enquiries via telephone and email.
• Build rapport with prospective and existing customers and understand their requirements.
• Generate and qualify opportunities for the external sales team.
• Arrange appointments and meetings for Business Development Managers.
• Maintain accurate records and update CRM systems.
• Collaborate with internal and external colleagues to support business growth.
• Contribute to customer retention and ongoing account development.

Required profile

• Positive, enthusiastic and self‑motivated.
• Confident communicator, comfortable speaking with customers over the phone.
• Relationship‑focused with strong interpersonal skills.
• Organised and proactive in approach to work.
• Experience in an office‑based environment, preferably in business development, sales support, customer service, account management, recruitment or lead generation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using CRM systems.

What we offer

• Salary circa £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
• Free on‑site parking.
• Monday‑Thursday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Friday until 1:30 pm.
