Business Development Manager – Construction Sector

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Business Development Manager to drive sales and marketing initiatives within the construction sector. The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities, build strong client relationships, and work closely with senior leadership to shape growth strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market analysis to spot trends and potential clients.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of prospects through lead qualification.
• Develop consultative relationships with clients, offering tailored advice on services.
• Identify contacts within organisations to generate new opportunities, upsell and cross‑sell.
• Arrange and attend face‑to‑face meetings to strengthen rapport.
• Stay updated on market trends and pinpoint growth areas.
• Utilise advertising strategies to promote the company.
• Collaborate with the Managing Director on sales and marketing strategy.
• Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets.
• Maintain CRM data for accurate tracking and reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of sales experience, preferably in construction.
• Strong listening, relationship‑building, presentation and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Research skills with a talent for spotting business opportunities.
• Experience managing sales staff is advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.

• Proficiency with CRM software.
