Business Development Manager

About the role

We are supporting a rapidly growing technology‑led engineering business that specialises in advanced composite materials, automated manufacturing solutions and digital technologies. The Business Development Manager will lead sales efforts within the defence sector and act as a trusted partner for ‘Neo‑Primes’, helping them secure the manufacturing capabilities they need.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies across UK and international markets.
• Identify new customers and opportunities within advanced manufacturing sectors.
• Build and maintain relationships with engineering leaders, procurement teams and senior stakeholders.
• Manage the full sales life‑cycle from opportunity generation to contract negotiation.
• Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to design customer‑specific solutions.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences and customer meetings.
• Provide market intelligence to inform product and service development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development, technical sales or strategic account management.
• Track record of winning new business and developing strategic partnerships.
• Experience selling into engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, defence, automotive or marine markets.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently.
