Business Development Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our client in Maidstone to drive new business, develop key accounts and grow service contracts across a diverse range of commercial and industrial customers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new service and maintenance opportunities.
• Develop relationships with commercial, industrial, public‑sector and leisure customers.
• Promote planned maintenance, reactive support, refurbishment and optimisation services.
• Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract award.
• Attend customer sites to identify service and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and tenders.
• Work closely with engineering and service teams to deliver solutions.
• Maintain a strong sales pipeline and accurate CRM records.

Required profile

• Proven business development or technical sales experience.
• Experience within the water/waste industry, ideally with knowledge of domestic pump stations, treatment plants and tankering works.
• Experience selling service contracts, maintenance or technical solutions.
• Strong commercial, communication and negotiation skills.
• Confident dealing with both technical and non‑technical customers.
• Able to identify opportunities and convert them into revenue.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: Experience working with facilities, estates, industrial, leisure or public‑sector customers, including tendering and framework opportunities.

What we offer

• £45,000 per annum plus company commission structure.
• Monday to Friday, 8 am‑5 pm working pattern.
