Business Development Manager – Power Generation & Industrial Services

About the role

This senior Business Development Manager role focuses on the UK power generation and industrial services market. You will work autonomously to identify growth opportunities, build strategic relationships and secure long‑term contracts for engineering, outage and maintenance services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute growth strategies for power stations and industrial assets.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including shutdowns, outages, maintenance contracts and specialist technical services.
• Lead commercial discussions, contract negotiations and bid submissions.
• Create strategic account plans for existing and prospective clients.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences and networking functions.
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
• Manage and mentor one direct report within the business development function.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the UK power station and power generation sector.
• Strong knowledge of outage planning, shutdown projects and maintenance contracts.
• Established network of senior decision‑makers such as Plant Managers, Engineering Managers and Procurement Teams.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and achieve revenue, margin and growth targets.

Required skills

• Understanding of commercial drivers for major generating assets.
• Experience in contract negotiation and bid management.
• Ability to develop strategic account plans.
