Business Development Manager - Travel Industry, Scotland

About the role

Exoticca, an online travel agency focused on long-distance dream trips, is looking for a Business Development Manager to drive field sales and expand its presence across the Scottish market. This is a field-based sales role focused on building strategic relationships with Travel Advisors, consortia and key trade partners, opening new accounts, strengthening existing partnerships and delivering sustainable revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a regional sales plan to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
• Identify, prospect and onboard new Travel Advisor accounts across Scotland.
• Manage and grow existing accounts, focusing on retention and year-on-year revenue increase.
• Represent Exoticca at Scottish trade shows, industry events, networking functions and FAM trips.
• Deliver in-person and virtual product presentations and training sessions.
• Drive group bookings and strategic partnership opportunities.
• Maintain an accurate pipeline and account management using Salesforce CRM.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Operations and HQ teams, prepare weekly sales activity reports and monthly expense reports, and meet defined KPIs.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' experience in travel industry sales within the Scottish market.
• Strong existing network of Scotland-based Travel Advisors and industry contacts.
• Experience in field sales and territory management.
• Willingness to travel regularly across Scotland and occasionally internationally (events, HQ visits).
• Commercial mindset, entrepreneurial attitude and openness to feedback and coaching.

Required skills

• Strong presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Data-driven approach; Salesforce experience preferred.
