Buyer – 12 month Fixed-Term Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Buyer to manage established branded product ranges for a well‑known consumer goods business. This 12‑month fixed‑term position is based in Southampton and offers the chance to work closely with suppliers across the UK and Europe while contributing to new product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Manage branded product ranges from selection through to market launch.
• Source new suppliers, negotiate commercial agreements and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity and forecast demand.
• Monitor product performance, sales data and stock levels.
• Support product launches, sales teams and prepare stakeholder presentations.
• Attend UK and European trade shows and supplier meetings.

Required profile

• Previous buying or procurement experience within a consumer‑goods environment.
• Strong negotiation and supplier‑management capabilities.
• Commercial awareness with solid analytical ability.
• Highly organised with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities.
• Confident communicator who enjoys collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
