Buyer – Fleet & Logistics Procurement

About the role

Greggs is seeking a Buyer to join its Procurement team at the Head Office in Newcastle upon Tyne. Reporting to the Senior Purchasing Manager for Capital Equipment, you will support manufacturing and logistics sites by managing capex and revenue spend, with a focus on fleet and logistics procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Own and lead the Fleet Procurement category, covering HGVs, LCVs, MHE, and related services.
• Manage end‑to‑end source‑to‑contract activities, from supplier identification to contract award.
• Collaborate with internal logistics and manufacturing stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services to agreed specifications.
• Maintain relationships with 3PL suppliers and oversee ancillary logistics equipment procurement.
• Monitor spend, track performance metrics, and drive cost‑saving initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, preferably within fleet, logistics, or capital equipment categories.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
• Ability to work autonomously while aligning with broader logistics priorities.
