Cabinet Maker / Bench Joiner – Bespoke Furniture Production

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Cabinet Maker / Bench Joiner to join a specialist UK furniture manufacturer. The role involves producing high‑quality bespoke and batch‑produced wooden furniture, working from technical drawings through to final assembly.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture bespoke and batch‑produced wooden furniture to a high standard.
• Interpret technical drawings and production specifications.
• Work from CAD drawings and liaise with design teams when required.
• Operate a range of woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Assemble, fit and finish furniture products, ensuring excellent quality.
• Assist with prototype development and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
• Collaborate with production colleagues to deliver projects on time.
• Support quality‑control processes and ensure products meet customer specifications.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Cabinet Maker, Bench Joiner, Furniture Maker or similar.
• Background in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and manufacturing drawings.
• Experience with CAD drawings; knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software is advantageous.
• Good understanding of woodworking machinery and production processes.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence advantageous but not essential.

Required skills

• AutoCAD or comparable CAD software.
• Woodworking machinery operation.
• Use of hand tools for joinery.
• Interpretation of technical drawings.

• Competitive salary £35,000‑£40,000, dependent on experience.
