Cafe Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Cafe Team Leader to join one of our bustling cafés. You will help ensure smooth daily operations while delivering outstanding customer service in a friendly, fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain operational and safety standards throughout the café.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Lead by example, providing an excellent experience for every customer.
• Open and close the café and oversee full operations in the manager’s absence.
• Recognise and celebrate team members for delivering excellent service.
• Learn the menu thoroughly and coach the team to do the same.
• Boost sales by ensuring optimal staffing and placement.
• Deliver Health & Safety and Food Safety training to colleagues.
• Support the Café Manager with colleague coaching and development.
• Identify and implement continuous service improvements.
• Promote an inclusive environment where all colleagues feel respected and safe.

Required profile

• Background in hospitality with team/shift leader experience.
• Passion for providing excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of health & safety and food safety standards.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
• Confidence using initiative to improve ways of working.
