Call Handler / Emergency Response Specialist (Night Shift)

About the role

TaskUs is recruiting a Call Handler / Emergency Response Specialist (night shift) in Manchester to support autonomous vehicles. As a member of the fleet response team, you give real-time guidance and support to autonomous vehicles in complex driving scenarios.

Key responsibilities

• Navigational assistance: guide AVs through blocked streets, narrow lanes and private driveways safely and efficiently
• Decision making: collaborate with AVs to optimise driving paths, taking account of lane closures and traffic conditions
• Safety oversight: monitor AV behaviour and intervene to avoid hazards
• Human-machine interaction: keep communication with AVs clear and timely
• Problem solving: adapt to changing road conditions and unexpected challenges
• Continuous learning: analyse past performance to help improve AV technology
• Safety compliance: follow all relevant safety regulations and certifications

Required profile

• 999/emergency telecommunications experience or similar (at least 1 year)
• Valid full UK driving licence with 3 years of driving experience and a clean record
• Background check and drug and alcohol test passed
• Ability to stay focused and seated for several hours and to multitask
• Schedule flexibility for a 24/7 operation including holidays

Required skills

• Customer service, de-escalation, communication and interpersonal skills (2 years experience)
• Problem solving and decision making
• Adaptability to new technologies and ability to self-correct
