Emergency Response Specialist (Morning Shift)

About the role

TaskUs is looking for a Call Handler / Emergency Response Specialist (morning shift) to support autonomous vehicles in real time. You will guide AVs through complex driving scenarios, help them choose safe routes and intervene when needed to keep everyone safe.

Key responsibilities

• Navigate AVs through challenging situations such as blocked streets, narrow lanes and private driveways
• Collaborate with AVs to optimise driving paths, taking lane closures and traffic conditions into account
• Monitor AV behaviour and intervene to prioritise safety and avoid hazards
• Maintain clear communication with AVs so they respond quickly
• Analyse past performance to suggest improvements to AV technology
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and certifications

Required profile

• Valid full UK driving licence with 3 years of driving experience and a clean record
• 999/emergency or telecommunications experience or similar (at least 1 year)
• English at C1/C2 level
• Background check and drug and alcohol test passed
• Schedule flexibility to cover a 24/7 operation including holidays

Required skills

• De-escalation skills and strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills (2 years of experience)
• Problem solving, decision making and attention to detail
• Ability to stay focused and seated for long periods and to multitask
• Adaptability to new technologies and ability to learn from mistakes
