Category Manager – Fresh Fish

About the role

We are looking for a Category Manager (Fresh Fish) to lead the entire fresh fish portfolio. The role combines sourcing, merchandising and strategic planning to ensure the category meets market demand while delivering profitability and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop short‑ and long‑term category strategies aligned with market trends.
• Define the optimal product mix and manage the assortment to satisfy customer needs.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, contracts and promotions.
• Collaborate with quality control to guarantee safety, freshness and sustainability standards.
• Manage annual pricing contracts and establish buying policies.
• Oversee inventory levels, working with operations to avoid stock‑outs or excess.
• Monitor emerging seafood trends, especially sustainability and consumer preferences.
• Drive innovation by sourcing new domestic and international fish products.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in fresh food retail, preferably in seafood or fish categories.
• Deep knowledge of seafood products, industry standards and sustainable sourcing.
• Proven ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with data‑driven decision making.
• Passion for fresh foods and commitment to quality.
