Category Manager

About the role

As a Category Manager within Co‑op Wholesale’s Trading team, you will own a portfolio of products, deciding what to sell, how much to stock and at what price. Working in a hybrid model (2‑3 days in the office, Wednesdays in Scunthorpe), you will help our wholesale partners receive the right quantities at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the assigned product category and drive performance across all channels.
• Collaborate with the Senior Category Manager to develop range, pricing and promotional strategies.
• Monitor category performance against targets and adjust tactics as needed.
• Analyse data and market insights to spot trends, risks and opportunities.
• Work closely with Group Commercial and Logistics teams and build strong supplier relationships.

Required profile

• Understanding of buying practices and a willingness to develop further.
• Proven ability to shape and deliver effective trading strategies.
• Strong sales, negotiation and supplier management experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Capability to translate data insights into actionable improvements.
