Category & Sourcing Lead – CFO (Cost & Procurement)

About the role

Santander UK is seeking a Category & Sourcing Lead to support the Head of Category & Sourcing and drive its multi‑year procurement transformation. The role will be based in Milton Keynes, Bradford or Glasgow and will focus on delivering strategic value beyond cost savings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and obtain executive approval for category strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Provide market insight, commercial expertise and benchmarking to inform decisions.
• Lead stakeholder engagement across the organisation to ensure alignment and adoption.
• Manage a high‑performing procurement team, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Oversee supplier performance and ensure compliance with risk and regulatory standards.
• Champion the use of procurement systems to drive efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven track record in category management.
• Experience managing complex contracts.
• Demonstrated leadership of procurement teams.
• Background in procurement transformation (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and CIPS qualification (preferred).
