About the role

Santander UK is seeking a Category & Sourcing Lead to support the Head of Category & Sourcing and drive its multi‑year procurement transformation. The role will be based in Milton Keynes, Bradford or Glasgow and will focus on delivering strategic value beyond cost savings.

Key responsibilities

Develop and obtain executive approval for category strategies aligned with business objectives.
Provide market insight, commercial expertise and benchmarking to inform decisions.
Lead stakeholder engagement across the organisation to ensure alignment and adoption.
Manage a high‑performing procurement team, acting as a trusted advisor.
Oversee supplier performance and ensure compliance with risk and regulatory standards.
Champion the use of procurement systems to drive efficiency.

Required profile

Proven track record in category management.
Experience managing complex contracts.
Demonstrated leadership of procurement teams.
Background in procurement transformation (preferred).
Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and CIPS qualification (preferred).
